Dr Magarey, along with talented Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon Dr Ajay Chauhan have combined in a first for Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Using 3D pre-planning, Dr Magarey has resected a cancer from the mandible (lower jaw) which was reconstructed using 3D printed cutting guides, plates and screws.

This means a more accurate reconstruction following this significant surgery, and shorter operating times.
